PLATO'S MYTH

- Allegory of the cave -

Socrates describes a group of people who have lived chained to the wall of a cave all of their lives, facing a blank wall. The people watch shadows projected on the wall by things passing in front of a fire behind them, and begin to ascribe forms to these shadows. According to Socrates, the shadows are as close as the prisoners get to viewing reality. He then explains how the philosopher is like a prisoner who is freed from the cave and comes to understand that the shadows on the wall do not make up reality at all, as he can perceive the true form of reality rather than the mere shadows seen by the prisoners. The Allegory is related to Plato's Theory’s of Forms, according to which the "Forms" (or "Ideas") and not the material world of change known to us through sensation, possess the highest and most fundamental kind of reality. Only knowledge of the Forms constitutes real knowledge. In addition, the Allegory of the Cave is an attempt to explain the philosopher's place in society: to attempt to enlighten the prisoner

This is the example of Plato’s Myth based on my understanding.. J

MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT

The prisoners

* Malaysian citizen turn out to be the bait. They are being used and manoeuvre by irresponsible individuals

The chains:

* The strategy and tactics that have been applied by the ‘shrewd’ individual which brings a lot of misery to the citizens

 The fire:

* The dishonest and deceitful politician which enthusiastic in achieving the goal although they have to manipulate people around them

The shadows and the images:

* The propaganda made by the politician in order to attain trust from the citizen such as their fake manifesto and their pledge towards the society is just counterfeit

The Puppet players

* The government plays the role as the puppet player as they unite in order to attain success by manipulating the citizen. There is also some hidden conspiracy between the government and the corrupt politician

 The old man:

* People who are conscious about this ‘conspiracy’ and they will thwart this matter from getting worse by taking several prevention in the future.

EUPHEMISTIC LANGUAGE ...

Basically, euphemistic language draws on polite, pleasant or neutral words and expressions to refer to things which people may find unpleasant, upsetting, or embarrassing to talk about. Regularly, it was about sex, physical appearance and also fatality. additionally, these words are to prevent an individual from getting offended

Senior citizens who consume a high dietary intake of carotenoids, nutrients found in coloured fruits and vegetables such as carrots, peppers, mangoes and kiwi fruit, are able to walk 'longer and stronger' than those with a low dietary intake, suggest the results of a new study published by the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Ageing.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins Medical Centre used blood tests to measure levels of carotenoids in 687 older adults aged sixty-five and over and subsequently assessed the results against the physical walking performance of the trial participants.
Results showed that a higher dietary intake of fruits and vegetables, as indicated by a higher blood carotenoid level, was associated with a significant protective effect against physical degeneration over the course of three years, as measured by a strong or weak walking performance.
The latest findings are the second such study to examine the connection between these dietary factors and sustainable physical performance in aging. Previous research, also carried out by Johns Hopkins and forming part of the larger Women's Health and Aging Study, revealed that "low serum carotenoid levels, an indicator of low intake of fruits and vegetables, are independent predictors of the progression towards severe walking disability among older women living in the community."

Prior to both studies, the link between a low carotenoid intake and poor muscle strength had been established, as had a more general correlation between fruit and vegetable consumption and functional disability in senior citizens.
Researchers in the current study felt that their results may be particularly important given that such mobility assessments can be accurate predictors of future disability and even mortality, and that the findings could help senior citizens in maintaining independence and quality of life with aging.
Lead author Dr Alipanah and colleagues suggested a number of explanations for the findings, including that the antioxidant properties of the nutrients could protect against the progression of aging and may help to dampen down a type of inflammation unique to muscle weakness and physical decline. The research team also suggested that physical degeneration may on occasion simply be related to under nutrition and that an increased intake of fruits and vegetables could be indicative of consuming enough calories to lend to a strong physical walking performance.
According to the US Department of Agriculture, the highest levels of carotenoids are found in collards, sweet corn, tomatoes, watermelon, pink grapefruit, pumpkin, butternut squash and carrots. Guidelines recommend an intake of around 6mg each day, or equivalent to eating three portions of carotenoid rich foods.

* Senior citizen = old people
* Longer and stronger = healthier or in a good health

JACK THE RIPPER ! !

He is the most notorious ‘murderer’ of all time… J.T.R

"Jack the Ripper is the best-known name given to an unidentified serial killer who was active in the largely impoverished areas in and around the Whitechapel district of London in 1888. The name originated in a letter, written by someone claiming to be the murderer that was disseminated in the media. The letter is widely believed to have been a hoax, and may have been written by a journalist in a deliberate attempt to heighten interest in the story. Other nicknames used for the killer at the time were "The Whitechapel Murderer" and "Leather Apron"Attacks ascribed to the Ripper typically involved female prostitutes from the slums whose throats were cut prior to abdominal mutilations. The removal of internal organs from at least three of the victims led to proposals that their killer possessed anatomical or surgical knowledge.

Based on my point of view (and the investigation that has been made :P)  I think the most probable suspect to be Jack the Ripper is……?

Dr Thomas Neil Cream !!

Premise 1
The execution appears to come from a doctor (The Modus operand)

Argument
The killings seem to be from someone who is specialized in anatomy

Sub Argument
Incisions made towards victims are clear-cut and neat which might give the clue that the murderer is a well experienced person.

Premise 2
Dr Thomas Neil Cream is expert in abortions

Argument
He is obsessed towards female genitals as it is associated mostly with his job

Sub Argument
Jack The Ripper assassination methods somehow resembles Dr Thomas Neil Cream area of expertise, which is the removal of female genitals, thus it shows that he is the most probable suspect to be Jack The Ripper

Premise 3
He confessed that he is Jack the Ripper when he is almost died

Argument
Ordinary human being would only tell the truth when approaching death

Sub Argument
Without sense of hesitation, he confess that he is Jack the Ripper because he discern that he is going to ‘kick the bucket’ very soon and he will not get any punishment for his inhumanity conduct

ThiNKiNg PoSE ! ! ^____^

My very own ‘thinking pose’.. J
